We had the pleasure of designing and project managing, the open plan kitchen/dining and living space plus the utility room and hallway, of a stunning executive home in Nuthall. The results were a stunning substantial entertaining area connecting with the gorgeous garden space. Our clients are a family of five and required a substantial open plan area for daily living and entertaining, which also connects with the outside space. The whole of the rear of the property has been reconfigured to accommodate the open plan space, comprising of the desired three separate functions.
Kitchen Area
A sleek high-end and functional kitchen was chosen, contemporary in style with several different finishes chosen to add interest. The orange Masters stools add a pop of colour and warmth. The Alento 7 light ceiling pendant is height adjustable, sleek and contemporary. A striking wallpaper called Lustre by Anthology added colour, texture and interest. Lustre is a vinyl wallcovering with a painterly impressionistic design which creates a raw stripe effect on an embossed crackle-effect ground. The non wallpapered walls in all three areas were painted in Farrow & Ball Clunch No.2009.
Dining Area
The eye-catching Foscarini Big Bang suspension light was selected to centre over the dining table. A large dining table was required for entertaining purposes. We selected the Y! Dining table, it revels in its architectural origins, using clean lines and elegant materials to create a timeless and modern table. To compliment the bar stools, Masters chairs were chosen in white.
A bespoke cocktail chair in Romo Benito in Kingfisher with side table created a reading/garden view area.
Living Area
The bespoke contemporary sofa was upholstered in Warwick Lovely velvet fabric, in taupe. A space saving nest of multi-function footstools were produced in two different colours of Warwick Lovely fabric and one in Romo Benito. To complete this area the Darya wool rug in ivory and blue was acquired.
Another bespoke cocktail chair and side table from a nest of mixed metal tables was positioned in the corner, suitable as a reading nook with the aid of a sleek matt nickel floor lamp. A large black leaner mirror was positioned opposite the bi-fold doors to reflect the light.
A techlink television stand in walnut and black neatly concealed your necessary equipment. To complete the furniture, an Andrew Martin Stanley console table was positioned behind the sofa. Two asteroid table lamps adorned the console table.
The showstopper Bolia Leaves pendant light was hung above the main seating area. For a pop of colour, warmth and texture a variety of cushions in blue and orange tones, together with a throw were scattered on the substantial family sofa.
Hallway
A Harlequin wallpaper – Makalu Moonlight and Farrow & Ball Wimborne White No.239 were the chosen wallcoverings.
A contemporary semi-flush ceiling light, Euan by DAR lighting was positioned in the entryway.
The Johal family were over the moon with their striking and functional transformation. They are now able to fully enjoy their beautiful home together.
