Client brief

Our clients bought a new contemporary home off-plan, which is set in the beautiful village of Hulland Ward in the Derbyshire Dales district.

They required a coherent luxurious interior scheme which was also comfortable and welcoming. A relaxing environment from their hectic global travels.

Master Suite

Our brief was to create a relaxing, boutique hotel-style master suite. Muted colours and a variety of textures were preferred. We chose wave-headed curtains on a Silent Gliss track and a pelmet in Black Edition Anukka in Rose Quartz fabric. Made by the talented and experienced Lynne Kelly Curtains and Blinds.

Their existing divan bed compliments the bespoke ottoman and matching chair in Luxor Velvet and we selected a stunning area rug from Atomic Interiors; RV Astley chest-of-drawersbedside tables and table lamps , provided by House of Isabella. To complete our design, we chose an exquisite ceiling light from Ocean Lighting.

The Master Bathroom has been modified with a wall hung toilet and fitted cabinets by Stephen Christopher Design, with a roller blind and pelmet in the same fabric as the Master Bedroom for a seamless flow.

A spare bedroom has been converted to a dressing room, also by Stephen Christopher Design. This useful and relaxing space has been designed specifically for our client, with an array of storage options. Adjacent to the dressing table are bespoke cases for the client’s designer handbags.

Kitchen and Utility Design

The finishing touches were added to the kitchen area to compliment the open plan dining and sitting areas.

Bespoke window treatments to compliment the dining/living areas

Stephen Christopher Design created a bespoke unit for washing machines and tumble dryers at a practical waist height. We located them in the garage, making room in the utility room for much needed integrated waste and recycling bins.

The original tap was replaced with a Quooker boiling water tap, and the original bulky extractor fan and induction hob were replaced with a Bora induction hob with downward extraction. We installed a stylish ceiling light and a pop of blue was introduced with bar stools by Danetti.

Open Plan Dining Room and Sitting Room Design

A practical and stylish ceramic-topped dining table also from Danetti was chosen and complimented by bespoke dining chairs made by F&M Steed covered in a sumptuous printed velvet  and piped in blue leather.

For continuity we continued the velvet (Soho Cloud) and leather combo in the sitting room area with bespoke furniture made by the same local upholsterers, accompanied by an area rug in blue tones and taupe. Complemented by the stunning wave-headed curtains in Harlequin fabric made again by Lynne Kelly Curtains and Blinds. To complete the areas we selected these unique ceiling lights by Spanish manufacturer Schuller.

Bespoke window treatments and complimentary chair.

Living Room Design

Contemporary warm white reclining sofas and side tables by Amara rest on a Porcelanosa wood-effect tiled floor. To soften the area a Nourison area rug from Naken Interiors was added. The luxurious Laing & Eimil sideboard was placed in recess to the left of the fireplace and complimented further, with this stylish table lamp.

Stunning side board and bespoke curtains.

Ahead of the Living Room is this impressive new staircase by Neville Johnson, in glass and dusted oak and includes a bespoke under-stair wine rack – an attractive and useful use of previously empty space.
